The Welsh Conservatives have reiterated calls to deliver on the people’s priorities in Wales in a debate on the Welsh Government’s Final Budget today.

Commenting, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Finance, Peter Fox MS said:

“For a quarter of a century, Labour Ministers have failed to prioritise the key issues that matter to the people of Wales, choosing instead to be distracted by new powers and vanity projects.

“Thanks to Labour’s serial mismanagement and underfunding, both patients and pupils will have to bear the brunt of budget cuts to both health and education services.

“As Welsh Conservatives, we believe in the people of Wales, their innovation, determination and aspiration. All that Wales needs is a Government willing to put the people’s priorities first.

“Labour ministers need to abandon their reckless pursuit of pet projects and constitutional distractions and instead listen to our plan to address the priorities of the people of Wales.”

The Welsh Conservative Plan outlines key priorities to address the main issues in Wales:

• Clearing the backlogs with Care Hotels

• Surgical hubs to end waiting Wales

• Supporting microbusiness to grow

• Future proofing Welsh businesses

• Freezing Council Tax to help with the Cost of Living

• Kickstarting empty houses back into homes
